RECONNECT COACHING

Where to begin

1

Reflect on what you hope to get from coaching.

Coaching can be transformational. It can be particularly helpful for those who are feeling stuck or overwhelmed, or for those who are seeking new directions. Working with a coach who is committed to your growth can lead to real change, creating more expansive meaning in your life and opening new ways to define yourself, your choices, and how you relate to others.

2

Schedule a free 30-minute consultation.

Share your story and what you are seeking from a coaching partnership. Together, we will discover if we are a good fit for one another and if coaching is right for you. (You can learn more about what coaching is like in the FAQs section below.)

3

Establish a coaching relationship.

If you choose to move forward in your coaching journey, we will work together to tailor a coaching plan that’s right for you. (See an example of a coaching contract in the FAQs section below.)

In-person and remote options

If you are in the Phoenix area, you can choose to meet for in-person sessions. Live out of state or simply prefer to meet virtually? No worries – many clients choose to meet via Zoom.

FAQs

What is coaching?

Personal change is often seen as behavioral, but real change happens at a deeper level. Coaching is a creative partnership that helps someone deeply explore who they are, what has shaped them, and who they want to become. While coaching is a reflective practice, it encourages you to look ahead into your possibilities and potential. Coaching can help you find your footing in order to move forward, which is particularly important in uncertain and complex situations, environments, and relationships.

How is coaching different from therapy?

While both coaching and therapy are focused on making meaningful life changes, understanding self-limiting beliefs, and working through difficult emotions, they are also different in important ways. Therapists are specifically trained to help you process your past, including past traumas, in order to bring healing. A coach may help you uncover how your past is connected to your present struggles, but they will primarily focus on the present and how you can move forward toward your future-oriented goals, hopes, and desires. And unlike therapists, coaches cannot diagnose or treat specific mental health struggles, like anxiety, depression, or PTSD. This does not mean that a person with a specific diagnosis cannot benefit from coaching; rather, coaching should not serve as a substitute to quality mental healthcare when it is needed.

What about confidentiality?

Trust is absolutely critical for—and central to—the coaching partnership. As such, what happens during your coaching session stays in your coaching session. (The one exception, of course, is when someone is clearly at risk of hurting themselves or someone else.) For more about confidentiality and other ethical expectations that guide the coaching relationship, see a sample coaching contract here.

What is the investment for coaching?

Your initial consultation is totally free. If we are a good fit, and you choose to move forward with coaching, individualized coaching sessions are $250/hr. Most clients choose to meet weekly, though we can tailor a plan that works best for you.
